About the client
Cogent Consulting is an independent, Minneapolis-based strategic, financial, and impact investing firm empowering purpose-driven organizations that drive positive social impact in their communities. They are practical visionaries ─ helping people do good well in a smart, efficient, and high impact way and, in the process, give them a fresh perspective on their work and the way they think about money.
About the brand
After 22 years, Cogent was ready for a new modern look that would grow with them into the future. Our goal was to elevate their brand to better align with the excellent results-driven work they provide, the professional integrity and trust they bring to the table, and the personal, supportive, empowering experience they give their clients. It was also important that their visual identity resonated with big corp clients and small businesses and organizations alike (they love working with both!).
My fave thing about Cogent’s brand is how refined + professional it looks, while still having a subtle touch of fun + creativity (which totally matches their team vibe!). It feels positive, empowering, and inspirational, while still evoking quality, trust, and expertise. It’s such a great example of the power of branding -- we can take all these different ideas and visually create a beautiful blend that's authentic to the client and helps them honestly tell their story and market their services. After their visual brand was in place, we developed custom designed marketing collateral for the Cogent team, to ensure consistency across all platforms and client communications. I created templates for their project proposals, welcome packets, and presentations, so they could take care of every day designs in-house, knowing they had a solid layout and foundation in place for each piece.
